These are some pictures from the book project, „Tale of a Young White Shark“, which was inspired by the newest research in marine biology. I was astonished at how little I knew about an animal that appeared so well-known. In my work, I attempt neither to glorify the animal nor turn it into a monster. The story is told silently, only through illustrations, from the standpoint of a young white shark. This shark is, just like the reader, still learning what it means to be a great white shark
If you are interested in the scientific inspiration of this work, please take a look at the research of the California State University, Long
Beach Shark Lab (CSULB Shark Lab) on the behaviour of juvenile great white sharks.
The Project was realised during the Wintersemester 2024/25 in the Master Course Illustration/Visuelle Narration supervised by Professor Martin Tom Dieck.
